Ethernet has a limited cable length between the switch and the IP-enabled device of 100 meters (328 ft.).

To overcome this distance limit, network installers can simply connect an Edimax Pro GP-101ET Gigabit PoE Extender and PoE-enabled device such as IP camera with the Ethernet cable. Depending on the PoE-enabled device type, the distance connection in total can be between 200-300 meters (656-984 ft.).
